Washington State Coalition Against Domestic Violence

Leadership Development

Strong organizations are built on leadership from everyone - directors, but also managers, advocates, and new people with fresh perspectives. Running a domestic violence program is a difficult job. Operating a shelter for women and children fleeing from abusers presents challenges in conflict management, supervising, and morale.  Directors and managers tell us that they feel isolated and overwhelmed. They want practical help and peer connection.

Intensive Leadership Support

  • New Directors Learning Network - intensive training for directors on the job three years or less. WSCADV is partnering with the Washington Coalition of Sexual Assault Programs for the 2011-2012 cohort. Applications are due November 19, 2010. Contact us if you are interested.

  • People of Color & Native People's Leadership Academy - intensive training on nonprofit leadership and management. The Coalition is seeking applicants from among people of color and Native people working in the field interested in committing to this 18 month program. Applications for the 2011-2012 cohort are due November 24, 2010. Contact us if you are interested.
